Inverted Moss Vase
A part of my collection of vases where I explore volume and clean geometry. The wide shoulders emphasised by the small neck and flanging mouth.
This vase has a mixture of surfaces from honed and glassy to almost aggressively textured, including inside the mouth. The subtle application of glaze by spray-gun allows the colour to appear where it’s thicker and go to completely clear at it’s thinnest. The placement of the green is exactly where moss wouldn’t grow.
