This is a take on the ever present narrow necked, bud vase made for a single stem. The idea being to move the weight but keep a sense of lightness. The tall foot and overhung belly give it a tension and energy I enjoy.
Made from highly grogged clay, the texture is carefully graduated from rough at the top to smooth at the bottom. Spray glazed with translucent green, it is faded in the same direction as the texture.
